A Place to Belong. A Community to Build Together.
Wheaton has been home to my family for nearly three decades. It is where we raised our children, found lifelong friends, and became part of a community that has given us more that we could ever repay.
I'm running for an at-large position in the April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election for Wheaton City Council because I believe the strongest communities are places where people feel connected, have an opportunity to contribute, and know their voices matter. Since this is an at-large position, that means everyone in Wheaton - the Northside residents in the 60187 and the Southside residents in the 60189 ZIP codes have a voice in City Hall!
I've Spent My Life Bringing People Together
Throughout my career in television, education, and community service, I have seen what becomes possible when people with different talents, experiences, and perspectives work toward a shared purpose.
I've helped creative teams produce programs seen across the country. I've watched students discover abilities they did not yet recognize in themselves. I've worked with artists, volunteers, City staff, educators, neighbors, and community organizations to turn ideas into something meaningful.
The settings have changed, but the questions guiding me have remained the same:
How can I help? How can I solve a problem? How can I remove barriers so people can thrive?
Serving on the Wheaton City Council feels like the next chapter of that work.
Wheaton Felt Like Home
Nearly 29 years ago, my wife and I returned to the Midwest from Southern California with our two young children looking for a place to build a life.
We wanted mature trees, walkable neighborhoods, excellent schools, access to the train, and the character of a close-knit community.
When we came to Wheaton, it simply felt right.
We rented a home for our first year and then bought a house one block away. I could walk to the Metra station. Our children could walk to Whittier Elementary and Edison Middle School. Kelly Park was across the street, and we found neighbors I could not have cast any better myself.
Nearly three decades later, we still love calling Wheaton home.

I'm not running because Wheaton is broken. I'm running because it is worth caring for, strengthening, and preparing thoughtfully for the generations ahead.

People are at their best when they feel known, welcomed, and connected to the place where they live.

Every resident brings experiences, ideas, talents, and passions that can make our community stronger.
THRIVE
Thoughtful local government helps create the conditions in which neighborhoods, families, businesses, organizations, and individuals can succeed.
A city cannot manufacture community. But it can protect and support the parks, gathering places, neighborhoods, traditions, services, and opportunities where relationships grow.
How I Will Approach the Work
City Council decisions are rarely as simple as a campaign slogan. They require preparation, judgment, listening, and a willingness to consider both immediate needs and long-term consequences.
Understand the facts. Read the materials, ask questions, and seek the information necessary to make an informed decision.
Listen to the people affected. Residents, businesses, City staff, community organizations, and neighborhoods often see different parts of the same issue.
Consider the long-term impact. A good decision must work not only today, but for the Wheaton we are leaving to the next generation.
Treat people with respect. Disagreement does not have to become division.
Explain my decision. You may not always agree with every vote I cast, but you should always know that I listened, prepared, and acted in good faith.

Use public resources carefully, plan for long-term needs, and provide residents with clear, understandable information about important decisions.

Support downtown, local businesses, employers, entrepreneurs, and the gathering places that bring people together.

Strengthen the public spaces, arts, events, parks, and community partnerships that help residents belong and participate.
Listening to Wheaton
The best ideas rarely begin with one person.
Throughout this campaign, I'll be meeting residents, visiting businesses and organizations, attending community events, and learning more about the opportunities and concerns people see across Wheaton.
